“I have had the pleasure of working with this firm on two occasions.  The first project involved in-depth interviews with owners of small businesses and the second was a series of focus groups with consumers. Both projects involved concept testing for a development-stage internet company.  Since our business was at such an early stage, we had little to share with respondents that was concrete, and nothing at all in the way of screenshots, creative, etc.  Because we wanted to get feedback about specific features of our model, however, the interviews and groups had to cover a lot of very granular material.  The interviews were particularly challenging because the concept had never been applied to small businesses and was therefore unfamiliar to all of our respondents.  The groups posed their own challenges, as the participants spanned a wide range of ages, educational backgrounds and incomes. 

You handled these challenges with uncommon creativity and grace.    Our discussion guides were very detailed and the moderator gave us clear, actionable feedback during the development process.  She managed to keep the sessions on pace to cover the material but never allowed participants to become overwhelmed or confused. Even more helpful, however, was the moderator’s sensitivity in session to what was and was not working, and her ability to suggest alternative approaches on the fly.
